We are expanding and have a Great opportunity for a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant to join our Medical Center/MARC in Pueblo and MARC in Trinidad, CO.

What Youll Be Doing
As a CMA/RMA OR LPN you would be providing direct care to patients experiencing emotional crisis and serious psychiatric issues in an environment that is a less restrictive alternative to hospitalization. You would be conducting nursing assessments. Youd also have the distinct opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Health Solutions professionals to serve individuals in Trinidad.
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Healthcare Services and Supervisor of Healthcare Services and MARC. This position would provide support to the provider teams by assisting in all office-based functions within scope. This position would be based in Trinidad.
Administrative Duties:
- Patient check in and check out.
- Keeps accurate, complete and up-to-date records with 100% compliance with set standards.
- Maintains respect for privacy by adhering to confidentiality in all phases of work.
- Adheres to the spirit of the mission statement while performing assigned duties.
- Maintains competency and proficiency with the electronic health record.
Clinical duties:
- Perform CLIA Waved testing
- Assists with medical and surgical procedures
- Assist the medical staff in patient education
- Administers vaccine and medication injections, (IM and SC)
- Stocks supplies
- Venipuncture and takes vital signs
- Takes health history and obtain laboratory samples
- Performs EKG, inhalation therapy and other in house laboratory and physical tests as directed by medical staff
- Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for patients and maintains exam rooms
- Assist in maintenance of instruments, equipment and cleans and autoclaves instruments as needed
- Provides medical services as ordered by the treating team that is appropriate to the age-specific needs of all patients in accordance with the principles of growth and development for infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric life cycles
- Witness and collect urine samples
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by a supervisor/director
Integration and Team Participation:
- Schedules x-rays and other medical testing, working with insurance companies as required for any pre-authorization needs
- Works with other team members in the integration setting and follows universal precautions to protect self and patients
- Be sensitive to cultural differences and able to work with patient from diverse racial, ethnic, educations and socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientation and gender identities
- Have an understanding of substance use disorders and support the medical team to ensure the highest quality care to patients with substance use disorders.
- Create a positive and compassionate interaction with patients.
- Support the successful recovery of patients and improve the quality of their lives.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally moves equipment and supplies as well as patients with mobility limitations.
- Frequently uses medical equipment such as venipuncture needles and blood pressure devices
- Frequently stays stationary for prolonged periods.
- Frequently walks for prolonged periods.
- Frequently exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Frequently exposed to stressful or emergent situations.
- Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment to record health data.
- Consistently communicate with patients.
