With over 400 employees in Southern Colorado, you would be joining a mighty team of support and administrative staff, case managers, clinicians, physicians, nurses, and others in our efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
We’re hiring a full-time Peer Support Specialist, to join us at our Crisis Services facility at 1310 Chinook Lane and Respite at 41 Montebello in Pueblo.
Must be able to work Monday – Wednesday from 6:00PM -6:00 AM.
What You’d Be Doing
Peer Support Specialists, have progressed in their own recovery from substance abuse or a mental health condition and self-identify as peers. Because of their own life experiences, peers can support others in crises and assist them in recovery so they can remain in their community. The peer support specialist provides outreach and acts as a role model, ally, mentor, planner, advocate, educator, resource connector, and tour guide for clients.
The Peer Support Specialist, works under the direction of the Crisis Services Supervisor and supervisory designee to
- Communicate with individuals seeking crisis services in respite and the crisis living room;
- Support clients by offering them information and hope;
- Reassure clients through active listening and consultation;
- Locate resources and make referrals to community partners;
- Transport clients as needed;
- Perform light housekeeping duties; and
- Physical requirements include the following:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
- Frequently communicates with physicians about medical notes, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Occasionally operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 25 pounds
- Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids

Qualifications
What We’re Looking For—The Must-Haves
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Personal knowledge of and experience with behavioral health services
- Valid Colorado driver license and access to reliable transportation during work hours
- Good driving record
