We have a great opportunity for a Team Lead Registered Nurse (Full-time) to work Monday-Friday in our Acute Treatment Unit at 1302 Chinook Lane, Pueblo.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Team Lead Registered Nurse at the Acute Treatment Unit you would be providing direct care to patients experiencing emotional crisis and serious psychiatric issues in an environment that is a less restrictive alternative to hospitalization. You would be conducting assessments, evaluating and managing medications, setting priorities for care, and leading your shift. You’d also have the distinct opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Health Solutions’ professionals to serve individuals and groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the clinical supervision of a Director of Prescribers and Nurses, a Nurse and administrative supervision of the Director of Acute Treatment Unit the Team Lead Registered Nurse:
- Assist with stand by schedule and maintain rotating schedules;
- Reviews and audits documentation;
- Provides training on Order Connect;
- Prepares & dispenses prescribed medications;
- Ensures that all medications in a Health Solutions facility are securely kept and maintained;
- Maintains therapeutic milieu;
- Conducts nursing assessments;
- Provides education groups & individual sessions;
- Keeps accurate, complete and up-to-date records with 100% compliance with Center standards;
- Maintains competency and proficiency with the electronic health record and electronic prescribing;
- Organizes & maintains medication records;
- Calls in prescriptions & follows-up on refills, etc.;
- Orders lab work & reviews need for immediate attention on the doctor's behalf;
- Participates in staffing’s;
- Consults and works closely with treating medical professional;
- Does basic blood pressures, temperatures, weight monitoring, etc.;
- Takes the shift lead and assigns tasks to co-workers to insure the smooth operation of the shift; and
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director within the scope of the position.
- Physical requirements include the following:
- Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally moves equipment and supplies as well as patients with mobility limitations.
- Frequently uses medical equipment such as venipuncture needles and blood pressure devices
- Frequently stays stationary for prolonged periods.
- Frequently walks for prolonged periods.
- Frequently exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Frequently exposed to stressful or emergent situations.
- Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment to record health data.
- Consistently communicate with patients.

What We’re Looking For—The Must-Haves
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in Colorado or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited academic institution
- Experience with and knowledge of the effective use of psychiatric medicine
- Current Colorado driver’s license
- Access to reliable transportation during work hours
- Computer proficiency
What We’d Like to See in You—The Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in a psychiatric/mental health setting
- Experience with Electronic Health Records and Electronic Prescribing a plus.
- Experience caring for adults with severe and persistent mental illness
- Managed care experience preferred
- Track record of working successfully as a part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in managed care environments
- Spanish language skills
