We are currently hiring for a FULL TIME Mending Laundry Aide to join our team!
Schedule: Monday- Friday - 6:00AM-2:30PM with expected mandatory overtime
JOB DESCRIPTION:
All barcoding, stamping and other identification on COG linen. Sewing, making potholders, audit credit carts.
Processing Returned Items for credit. repairable items; items that can be repaired are set aside for appropriate action.
Recycling and repurposing; items without visible damage are placed in a rewash cart for further cleaning.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
KNOWEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have basic knowledge of sewing.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
- Must be able to sit for a long period of time.
- Basic knowledge of safety standards.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with an attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work and communicate in a richly diverse environment.
- Must be able to stand as needed.
- Perform repetitive motions throughout the shift, such as moving your hands and fingers and keeping your head declined/inclined while operating a sewing machine.
- Energetic, self-starter.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Basic ability to read and understand English.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk most of the day and also required to repeat motions to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must constantly push and pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Fast-paced production environment - non-climate-controlled environment. Union environment with diverse workforce with multiple languages. Seven days per week operation - weekends required - nights may be required.
