Purpose of this position
The purpose of this position is to complete duties assigned to provide accurate, timely food service to meet residents needs in compliance with Federal, State and local requirements. To maintain dietary equipment in a safe, sanitary manner. Must be committed to person-centered care by embracing and following the facilitys goal of person-centered care by demonstrating and being supportive of individual resident choice and controlled resident-preferred routines in all aspect of daily living.

Qualifications
High school graduate or GED
Ability to read and write, speak and understand English.
Ability to withstand sudden temperature changes from heat of the kitchen or the cold of the freezers.
Ability to safely transport hot pans from range or ovens to the steam table and be able to maneuver in the kitchen and walk-in freezer and cooler.
Ability to identify chemicals, and properly use and dilute them.
Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, visitors and other facility personnel.
Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Ability to taste and smell food to determine quality and palatability.
Meet all health requirements imposed by law.
