Medical Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team. Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests that are essential for accurate patient diagnosis and treatment. These tests span multiple disciplines, including hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, coagulation, therapeutic drug monitoring, non-syphilis serology, and urinalysis. This role requires precision, sound judgment, and proficiency in specimen collection techniques such as phlebotomy and finger or heel punctures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform high-complexity laboratory tests across various medical disciplines following established protocols.
• Accurately analyze specimens and report results to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality control and regulatory standards.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize principles, theories, and techniques of medical technology to produce reliable test results.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a sterile environment in accordance with laboratory regulations.
• Assist physicians and healthcare providers by delivering timely and accurate test results.
• Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and testing methodologies.

Education & Training Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Laboratory certification program with a minimum of an AAS degree OR a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Biology with qualifications under a recognized governing body to perform high-complexity testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification from ASCP, AMT, or equivalent accrediting agency.
• Strong understanding of clinical laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and quality control measures.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
