Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team in providing enriching and engaging experiences for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, particularly within nursing homes or long-term care settings, and possess the ability to create and implement activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents, including those with dementia and other aging issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and coordinate a comprehensive activities program that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being for residents.
- Engage residents in a variety of activities, ensuring participation from all individuals, including those with disabilities or cognitive impairments.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to assess interests and gather feedback on activity programs.
- Assist in training staff and volunteers on best practices for facilitating activities and providing care.
- Monitor the effectiveness of activity programs through regular evaluations and adjustments based on resident feedback.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure activities align with residents’ care plans and support their overall health goals.
- Organize special events, outings, and community engagement opportunities that foster social interaction among residents.
Experience
- Previous experience in a nursing home or long-term care environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices and senior caregiving techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with residents, families, and team members.
- Experience in counseling or assisting individuals facing aging issues is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating compassion and understanding towards residents’ needs.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.50 per hour
