Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents according to dietary guidelines
- Ensure that all meals are served on time and at the appropriate temperature
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to maintain food safety standards
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and work areas
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and portioning meals
- Collaborate with the dietary department to ensure that special dietary needs are met
- Maintain inventory of food supplies and notify supervisor when items need to be restocked
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations in the kitchen
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food service operations and basic culinary techniques is a plus
- Familiarity with working in a nursing home or healthcare setting is beneficial
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Skills:
- Culinary skills: Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation
