Healthcare & Emergency Solutions is a boutique consulting firm that specializes in providing culturally competent equitable healthcare services for historically excluded communities. Our team of public health professionals and clinical experts is uniquely equipped to manage state contracts. Through a partnership with the Georgia Department of Human Services, we are seeking high-performing contractors to join our team to support our Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) delivered services efforts that include Behavior Aide (BA), Family/Children counseling, Family/ Children assessments, Transportation/ Escorting, Child Supervision, and Drug Screening.
This opportunity is a 1099 Contractor role. As a Contractor, you will have the ability to build your schedule based on your availability, select your cases, increase your compensation based on type of services provided and partner with agency that emphasizes the development your professional career.
Family Support Specialists (Behavior Aides) - Gwinnett County are required to:
- Provide transportation and/or supervision to clients (children or adults) to visits in the community, appointments (doctor, dentist, counseling, etc.), school, or other events indicated by the case manager.

Assist with keeping accurate and current documentation on each client

Be able to monitor and assess the behavior of youth

Maintain organized and clear documentation, including entering notes and documenting mileage in a timely and accurate manner using eCaseNotes

Remain current and compliant with necessary training

Conduct home visits (if needed)

Answer telephone calls and emails promptly
-
Respond to requests for information from stakeholders in a timely fashion
-
Always promote a positive image of Comprehensive Family Care and it’s programs

Make court appearances, if necessary

Be a positive role model to all individuals and families that you encounter

Work exceptionally well with children, adolescents, adults, and families

Collaborate effectively with foster parents and/or parents

Conduct home visits for low risk in-home case management
-
Conduct crisis intervention activities (i.e., assessment, counseling, problem-solving, development of new coping skills, education/role playing, and recommendation of community resources)

Knowledge of and ability to use de-escalation skills when appropriate

Ability to maintain calm and organized in high stress situations
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and ability must demonstrate:
- Minimum
- High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of human service experience where you assisted/provided behavioral aide/worked with children or adults. A Child Development Associate certificate (CDA) Required if using Day Care Work experience to meet qualification, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following Human Services disciplines and 1 years of human service experience:
- Psychology, social work, behavioral sciences, child and family studies, community mental health, counseling, human services, psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, child development, community mental health. Criminal justice, and education can be considered with additional experience.
- Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services discipline and 3 years of human service experience
- Must possess MS Office: Computer Skills
- Professional Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Behavioral Intervention Skills, Crisis Intervention Skills (Required)
- Attend required meetings as needed
- Adhere to the organization's policies and procedures
- Participate in clinical consultation and training as needed
- Have strong clinical, crisis management, de-escalation and critical thinking skills
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License, with a minimum of 3-year clear driving history
- Must have reliable transportation (be able to travel locally and statewide, within 100 miles from residence, as needed)
- Must have and maintain personal vehicle and car insurance at 100/300/100 bodily injury limits (required)
- Must complete required state and project online trainings provided by HCES.
These services will be provided in the following Georgia counties: Region 1-Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Fannin, Gilmer, Gordon, Murray, Pickens, Walker; Region 2- Dawson, Lumpkin, Rabun, Towns, Union; Region 3- Douglas, Floyd, Haralson, Paulding; Region 4- Carroll, Fayette, Heard, Henry, Lamar, Pike; Region 5- Barrow, Elbert, Greene, Rockdale.
