What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Healthcare Linen Services Group?
The Maintenence Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems. This position will work closely with multiple personnel, including machine operators and other maintenance employees, in a fast-paced industrial environment. Pay is negotiable.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform periodic tests and checks of all electrical equipment.
- Tear down equipment, rebuild and replace defective parts and components such as motors, gear boxes, clutches and bearings as needed.
- Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Work safely, accurately, quickly, and independently to keep the equipment operating.
- Install electrical wiring systems to handle required loads for various machines.
- Work closely with production personnel on equipment repairs.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical training; exposure to processing machinery
- 2 years of related experience in machinery troubleshooting and maintenance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience in a commercial laundry desirable but not required.
- Must be able to work varied shifts and days.
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Must work well under pressure.
- Must have a valid Driver's License
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Electrical Troubleshooting: 2 years (Required)
- Industrial maintenance: 2 years (Required)
