Job Title: Director of Nursing
Location: Skilled Nursing Facility, Aurora, Illinois
Job Summary: The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring the highest quality of care for residents in a skilled nursing facility. This role involves managing nursing staff, developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department.
Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and facility policies.
Supervise, train, and evaluate nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated and comprehensive resident care.
Conduct regular assessments of resident care needs and adjust staffing levels accordingly.
Manage the nursing department budget and resources.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators and quality metrics.
Address and resolve any nursing-related issues or complaints.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all nursing activities.
Participate in the development and implementation of resident care plans.
Promote a positive and supportive work environment for nursing staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
