Restorative Nurse
Summary Description:
To provide routine services that support the skilled nursing care delivered to patients/residents requiring long-term rehabilitative or restorative services in accordance with the established nursing procedures and as directed by the supervisor. The Licensed Practical Nurse works under direct supervision using the state-specific Nurse Practice Act, Practice Guidelines and nursing judgment. This job description is to be used in conjunction with the job description for the LPN.
Responsibilities:
- Provides care and services to patients/residents requiring long-term, rehabilitative care, or restorative care as directed by Physician, Licensed Therapists and written plan of Care.
- Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the patient/resident.
- Delivering nursing care to patients
- Collecting patient data
- Making observations and reporting pertinent information to the care of patients
- Direct and supervise other nursing staff members as needed
- Safety concerns are identified and appropriate actions are taken to maintain and assure patient safety
- Documents objective information related to patient/resident care.
- Provides services that support the care delivered to the patient/resident.
- Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of policies and procedures.
- Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
- Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit and healthcare center policies.
- Participates in the performance improvement process and activities
- As this job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, the employee will be expected to perform other essential functions and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Practical Nurse with a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN in Ilinois
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition and able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required
- Is knowledgeable of patient/resident rights and promotes an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
- Ability to follow all applicable policies and procedures as well as current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care facilities
- Be able to work independently with little supervision and/or be able to work as part of a team as applicable
- Good interpersonal skills
