Senior Electrical Engineer

Our client is an exciting, development-stage innovator within the advanced medical device space. They have an immediate opportunity for a creative, design savvy Senior Electrical Engineer to support their product development needs.

While this is considered a hybrid role, qualified candidates must be able to spend 3 days/week onsite at their offices in Santa Cruz.

Responsibilities Include:

• PCB design, including component selection, schematic creation, and board layout including best practices
• Technical leader on projects from concept to product launch; managing requirements, design, testing, transfer to manufacturing, and product release process
• Prototype development including testing and analyses
• Collaborate with the software and engineering teams to improve current and/or design new embedded architecture

Qualifications Include:

• BE or ME in Electrical Engineering or similar
• 5 years of relevant experience in medical products, consumer electronics, electric vehicle, robotics or automation, or other advanced electromechanical systems- preferably within a regulated industry
• Detailed understanding of common buses and communications protocols for interfacing to various sensors and peripherals such as I2C, SPI, UART
• Knowledge of Altium or similar ECAD tools for drafting schematics and managing PCB layout
