Medical Assistant Palm Harbor FL (8 miles S of Clearwater)
We are looking for a friendly Medical Assistant to join our medical team full time in Palm Harbor, FL. Ideally, we are looking for a Medical Assistant who can multitask, is friendly and organized, a team player, who is able to effectively communicate with both the patients and the medical team. Must be a positive and enthusiastic candidate that is willing to learn new things. The main job functions are to schedule in-house testing, labs, radiological procedures, assist medication refills for patients, and to help check patients in and out of the office as needed.

We treat a wide range of patients but mostly focus on neurological patients dealing with conditions such as post stroke, CRPS, Lyme Disease, and non-healing wounds.

Responsibilities:
- Check patients in and out of the office
- Assist with ordering testing (in office)
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Taking vitals on patient and properly document vitals signs and info into the patients chart, Medication reconciliation, records patients’ medical history, vital signs, and informs patients’ on medication instructions
- Answering any questions the patient may have before, during, and after care
- Provide B12 shots
- Educating patients on procedures and testing
- Conducts health screenings and consulting with provider and patient on results
- Runs EFORCE, and performs prescription prior authorizations
- Collaborate with the healthcare team for comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
- Preferably has experience as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Basic knowledge of insurance companies is preferred
Schedule:
- Monday- Friday
- $17- $22 per hour
