Overview
As a Part-Time Nutrition Specialist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the nutritional services provided at a long-term care facility. This position can be combined with a secondary facility for full-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess residents' nutritional needs and create individualized meal plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
- Monitor and document residents' nutritional status and progress.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to residents, families, and staff.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance residents' overall health and well-being.
- Provide coverage in multiple buildings based on company needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Certification/License in good standing within the state of practice.
- Knowledge of state survey processes and compliance with nutrition care regulations (preferred, but not required).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with building occupants, administration, and leadership.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
- If applying as a multi-site specialist, a valid Driver's License is required.
