Role Overview
As an Orthopedic Surgeon Advisor, you will play a critical role in evaluating potential healthcare investments, advising on industry trends, and supporting portfolio companies in the musculoskeletal and orthopedic sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your clinical expertise in an entrepreneurial and investment-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert on orthopedic surgery, musculoskeletal health, and related medical technologies.Evaluate investment opportunities in medical devices, regenerative medicine, telemedicine, and other innovations related to orthopedics.Provide clinical insights to help assess the feasibility, efficacy, and regulatory pathways of new technologies and treatments.Support portfolio companies by advising on clinical validation, product-market fit, reimbursement strategies, and physician adoption.Assist in due diligence by reviewing clinical data, research studies, and medical literature relevant to potential investments.Participate in investment committee discussions, offering a physician's perspective on market needs and industry trends.Network with key opinion leaders, hospitals, healthcare systems, and payers to provide strategic recommendations on partnerships and scaling innovations.
Qualifications
Board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with at least 5-10 years of clinical experience.Experience with medical device innovation, digital health, or healthcare startups is strongly preferred.Understanding of FDA regulations, reimbursement models, and healthcare economics.Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate clinical data and market potential.Passion for healthcare innovation and venture capital.Prior experience with consulting, advising, or investing in healthcare startups is a plus.
