The Oncologist Advisor will play a key role in evaluating investment opportunities, conducting clinical due diligence, and advising healthcare startups on oncology-related innovations. Key Responsibilities
Investment Due Diligence & Market Evaluation
- Evaluate the clinical validity, safety, and efficacy of oncology-focused healthcare technologies.
- Assess AI-driven oncology tools, liquid biopsy diagnostics, genomic profiling platforms, and novel oncology therapeutics.
- Analyze the regulatory landscape (FDA, CMS, HIPAA, CPT coding, and reimbursement models) for oncology-related innovations.
- Provide risk assessment and feasibility analysis for startups developing targeted cancer therapies, immuno-oncology treatments, and digital oncology solutions.
- Offer clinical expertise to portfolio companies developing oncology-focused solutions, including personalized cancer treatment, AI-powered oncology decision support, and digital oncology patient engagement tools.
- Advise on oncology reimbursement strategies, payer integration, and regulatory challenges specific to oncology-focused medical devices, diagnostics, and therapeutics.
- Support oncology startups in designing clinical trials, Oncologist adoption strategies, and patient-centric cancer care models.
- Assist in recruiting Oncologist key opinion leaders (KOLs) and establishing oncology advisory boards for healthcare startups.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in oncology, including CAR-T therapy, AI in oncology imaging, molecular diagnostics, radiomics, and cancer immunotherapy.
- Represent the firm at oncology investment summits, ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) conferences, and industry panels focused on oncology innovation.
- Engage with Oncologists, cancer researchers, pharmaceutical executives, biotech innovators, and policymakers to expand the firm's presence in oncology-focused venture capital.
- Board-certified Oncologist (MD or DO) with clinical experience in medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, hematologic oncology, or precision oncology.
- Strong knowledge of oncology reimbursement models, cancer drug development, and regulatory frameworks in oncology care.
- Experience with healthcare startups, digital oncology platforms, precision medicine, or venture capital is a plus.
- Analytical skills for evaluating oncology-focused clinical data, business models, and cancer care technology platforms.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between Oncologists, investors, and healthcare entrepreneurs.
