Pay Rate-
$36.57/hr $5.36/hr Health & welfare benefit stipend
Schedule: 8:15am to 4:45pm, M-F no weekends

Patient Care Support Duties
- Assist physician/patients for office visits.
- Correctly identify patients by using at least two patient identifiers, accurately measure and record vital signs in patient’s medical record utilizing EPIC/Care Connect system.
- Administer medications and injections as ordered by physician following the proper Rights of Administration and record medications in patient’s medical record.
- Ability to recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and take proper precautions.
- Under the supervision of designated clinical staff, participate in total patient care in an ambulatory care setting.
- Ensure correct documentation of procedures and protect patient’s personal information in all forms.
- Respond to physical and emotional needs of patients.
- Provide support and act as a liaison between patient, family, and health care providers.
- Maintain, promote and display a team approach to patient care.
- Prepare and assist physicians in special procedures for patients.
- Perform 12 lead EKG’s routinely and also in emergencies.
- Perform venipuncture and point of care tests and document results. .Report normal and abnormal laboratory values to physician. Ensure proper preparations of specimens and requisitions for transport to the main laboratory.
- Assist in the refills of patient’s prescriptions by initiating request in the patients’ medical record, and route request to physician..
- Understand and adhere to all specific safety regulations regarding Blood borne Pathogens and other hazardous waste material.
- Maintain accurate records of Quality Control values as required for point of care tests performed.
- Recognize and report all equipment malfunctions to manager.
- Accurately record temperatures on all refrigerators and freezers.
- Perform vision and hearing tests as requested.
- Assist in educating patients in preparation for special examinations.
- Assist with follow up for referrals to specialists
- Review chart prior to visit to determine if reports are pending; obtain as necessary.
- Prepare information for physician for specialized visits such as Well Child or adult exams providing the proper consent or informational form including VIS for immunizations.
- Assist with organizing, documenting and notify drug company representatives of needed sample medications and supplies.
Medical Assistant Diploma
Minimum Qualifications
- proof of completion of a Medical Assistant course
- 6 months minimum amount of experience
- Spirometry Certification (or obtain after hire)
- Audiology Certification (or obtain after hire)
- 2-3 Professional References
- Required - be a certified MA
