Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. is looking for a Elementary Mod/Severe Special Education Teacher to work in a school located in Sonora, CA. This position is for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This position involves working with grades 1-4th who have severe disabilities, providing them with tailored educational programs that meet their individual needs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by these children and be committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports their developmental, educational, and emotional needs.
Pay Rate: up to $70/hr
Bonus: $18k bonus spread throughout year ($4k after 60 days, $4k after Christmas break, and at end of school year/contract $10K)

Job Duties:
- Assess students' abilities and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, therapists, and other educators to meet each child's unique needs.
- Implement specialized teaching strategies and use adaptive equipment and technology to enhance learning and participation in the classroom.
- Provide instruction in basic skills such as communication, social interaction, and self-care, adapting methods to suit each child's learning style and capabilities.
- Collaborate with therapists (e.g., physical, occupational, speech) to integrate therapeutic goals into classroom activities and routines.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting teaching strategies and goals as necessary to ensure maximum development and growth.
- Foster a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment that encourages students' engagement, independence, and self-confidence.
- Engage with families to support their understanding of their child's progress and strategies to support learning and development at home.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices and innovations in special education for young children with severe disabilities.
- Valid California Special Education credential authorizing teaching preschool students with moderate/severe disabilities
- Early Childhood Special Education Credential or Certificate
- Specialist Credential in Special Education: Severely Handicapped
- Valid California driver’s license
- Successful teaching experience or training in planning to implement IEP’s for special needs students
Salary : $54,900 - $72,500
