POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for overseeing the administrative and financial Information Technology operations including revenue cycle management at Healthcare Systems of America (HSA) reporting to the Vice President of Applications. The role requires excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. This role is responsible for oversight of IT Applications supporting patient registration, coding, billing, claims processing, and collections processes to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services provided. This position will play an essential part in building a team of IT resources for HSA's EHR development, deployment, maintenance and growth.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare IT leadership, extensive experience in supporting revenue cycle and business operations, and a demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. They will also be responsible for overseeing contract reviews, managing vendor performance, and driving systems integration efforts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the IT function supporting Revenue Cycle, Patient Registration, Scheduling, Medical Records, and other core administrative applications
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue cycle performance, improve cash flow, and maximize revenue generation
- Support Billing Office in analyzing financial data and key performance indicators to identify trends, areas of improvement, and potential revenue leakage
- Manage General Financial application support resources - GL/AP
- Oversee implementation and deployment of ServiceNow solution across the HSA environment.
- Ensures accurate and compliant coding and billing practices in accordance with industry standards and regulations. Directly supervise the patient access and scheduling team. Collaborating with coding and billing teams to optimize revenue capture and minimize denials
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the revenue cycle, including patient registration, insurance verification, claims submission, payment posting, and collections.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, payor guidelines, and internal policies related to revenue cycle management. Conducts regular audits to identify and address potential compliance issues
- Collaborates with clinical and operational teams to optimize revenue integrity by ensuring accurate charge capture, documentation, and reimbursement for services provided
- Leads and develops a team of IT managers, analysts, and revenue cycle professionals
- Evaluating, implementing, and optimizing revenue cycle management systems technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and revenue capture
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to optimize revenue cycle performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements
- Oversee support team for Meditech central support applications such as Data Repository, MIS, and Dictionary Central Management
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive experience developing, implementing and supporting IT solutions for Patient Registration, Information Management, Medical Records and Revenue Cycle Management.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred)
- 10 years of experience in healthcare IT, system integration, or interoperability solutions (Preferred)
- 4 years of supervisor experience (Preferred)
