We are excited to be searching for a new member to join our client's team as Regional Director of Operations , based in or near Palm Springs, CA .

Position Summary

The Regional Director of Operations role embodies the our client's mission and values by fostering effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders while overseeing administrative and operational functions across designated regions or product types. It ensures organizational effectiveness through strategic planning, quality improvement, and empowering management practices. Responsibilities include supervising facility administrators, managing financial performance, ensuring compliance with labor laws, overseeing clinical programs, and maintaining county contracts. The role involves proactive analysis of market conditions and policy changes, development of operational plans, and frequent travel to facilities. Additionally, it emphasizes building relationships with state and county officials, advocating for behavioral health initiatives, and promoting programs to stakeholders while ensuring a safe, effective, and therapeutic environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversees the administrative functioning of facilities in the assigned geographical region and / or product type.
  • Utilizes management practices that empower staff, provide clear expectations, deliver constructive feedback, and support continuous quality improvement.
  • Supervises facility Administrators by establishing operational objectives, fostering communication, and monitoring performance, including financial results, with quarterly reviews alongside the VP of Program Operations.
  • Collaborates with administrative staff on strategic planning to ensure organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensures personnel objectives are met, including monitoring attendance, turnover, recruitment, and compliance with labor laws. Identifies issues and recommends corrective actions as needed.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with State and County officials by regularly gathering feedback, sharing operational updates, and ensuring alignment with legislative changes and policies.
  • Continuously analyzes market conditions, policy directives, political changes, and patient needs to respond proactively.
  • Submits semi-annual plans to the VP of Program Operations containing objectives and schedules for patient care, finances, county relations, and personnel.
  • Travels frequently to Telecare facilities and the corporate office to oversee operations.
  • Manages county contracts, ensuring compliance with licensing and monitoring requirements, and oversees corrective action plans as needed.
  • Collaborates with facility management staff to oversee clinical programs, ensuring a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment and recommending program adjustments in response to changing needs.
  • Evaluates program needs and clinical objectives annually with facility administration and county officials and recommends research topics to the Research and Evaluation department.
  • Monitors facility expenditures and staffing to ensure alignment with budgetary objectives, reviewing financial variances and requests beyond facility budgets with executive management.
  • Establishes standards for safe and therapeutically effective care and supports the comprehensive quality assurance and improvement program.
  • Actively participates in meeting members’ needs and adapting to changing customer needs.
  • Professionally represents the corporation in community, state, and national hospital associations to maintain a positive reputation and advocate for behavioral health initiatives.
  • Markets programs to current and prospective customers

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Required :

  • Ten years of experience in healthcare administration.
  • Master’s degree in Hospital Administration, Mental Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Specific expertise in behavioral health, mental health, and psychiatric treatment settings.
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations, team management skills, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
