PA or ARNP needed for Delray Beach, FL. for an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) / Pain Management

Clinical Responsibilities
- Initial interviews/history of patients and physical exams and follow up evaluations and treatments.
- Complete all patient documentation within twenty four hours of visit.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of correct evaluation and management coding.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of CPT and ICD- 9 codes.
- Follow up by telephone in the evening on patients who have had injections in the office that day.
- Assist with procedures as determined by the physician.
- Give IV’s and injections per physician orders, complete superbills, and update patient’s electronic medical record at time of visit.
- Skin and wound debridement and dressings, castings and splint applications, suture and staple removal when indicated.
- Laboratory blood draws and obtains specimens as prescribed per protocols or prescription, label specimens, complete requisitions, spin specimens as needed.
- Prescribes medications, order diagnostic testing, and medical supplies, therapies, as per protocols and within license parameters.
- Patient and family instructions and counseling.
- On first call with physician backup as scheduled with physician.
- Knowledge and understanding of interventional pain procedures and when to refer to the physician for these types of procedures.
- Abides by the medical practice standards act.

- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled, with flexibility to the schedule.
- Wear identification while on duty.
- Attend staff meetings, annual review, and in-services as scheduled.
- Represent the organization in a positive manner.
- Actively participate in Quality Management as directed.
- Comply with ALL policies and procedures.
Other Duties as Assigned
This staff member will be expected to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Attending Physician or Medical Director, which will result in higher productivity levels, lower cost, increased revenue, or higher quality of patient care.
WORKING CONDITIONS (What is the environment that this job is performed in?)
Combination of medical office and exam / procedure room setting which is a well-lighted, well-ventilated, adequate space. May be exposed to blood borne pathogens and small amounts of radiation. Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school with a Physician Assistant Degree.
- Experience: 2 years of pain management preferred
- Licensure, Registry Required: Must be licensed by the State of Florida, Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance as a Physician Assistant with prescribing privileges.
- Special Training:
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Must be credentialed per facility policies and procedures.
- Certifications: BLS/ACLS Certified. National Board Certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Other: Pre-employment background investigation is required.
