Our client is actively seeking an experienced Hybrid Medical Director, Psychiatry to support their busy outpatient facility near Austin, Texas. This opportunity can be full or part time.
Key Responsibilities :
The Medical Director is responsible for providing psychiatric services in the clinic location. Working under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment, the Psychiatrist will provide evaluations, medication management, diagnostics, and plan of care recommendations in person. The Psychiatrist will serve as a member of the treatment team, work collaboratively with others, and act as a partner to the team at the clinic location.
Principle Duties / Responsibilities :
Evaluate and treat patients referred for assessing and treating neuropsychiatric conditions, behavioral health disorders, and comorbid conditions. Provide recommendations for assessment, treatment, and monitoring.
Provide psychiatric care to patients upon referral per evidence-based standards and American Psychiatric Association practice guidelines.
Provide follow-up care, medication management, and other therapies as appropriate, with clear and thorough documentation of indication and need.
Document the appropriate diagnosis or diagnoses and recommend the optimal medication regimen. Optimize and streamline psychotropic medication regimens. Monitor and adjust psychotropic medications to optimize functioning and relieve symptom-related distress.
Consult with primary care sites and providers, where indicated, to adjust and simplify medication regimens and treatment approaches.
Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, or other professionals to discuss and integrate treatment plans and progress. Work with administrative staff.
Supervision of nurse practitioners.
Represent the company in business development opportunities, including collaboration with the sales team or other departments, to develop new business opportunities.
Ensure the gathering and maintenance of patient information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals.
Examine and / or recommend laboratory and diagnostic testing for general physical and mental health conditions.
Record all notes, recommendations, and services provided in EHR / patient’s chart within 24 hours of a patient encounter, per policy.
Prepare and submit case reports or summaries to governmental, insurance, or other health agencies, as required.
Participate in the review of the quality of care provided for Mindful Health’s practice. When requested or required by Mindful Health, review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of other clinicians.
Cooperate in, prepare, submit, and maintain all documentation necessary for credentialing, privileging, insurance participation, billing, and record keeping.
Participate in clinical and administrative meetings as may be required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Education : MD or DO in Psychiatry from an accredited medical school.
- Board : Board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist with an active license to practice in Texas.
- Experience : Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience providing outpatient psychiatric care.
- Telehealth Proficiency : Comfortable using telemedicine platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems to provide remote care.
- Strong Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with patients effectively through virtual platforms.
- Empathy & Compassion : Ability to build trust and rapport with patients in a remote setting, providing emotional support and clinical guidance.
- Knowledge of Psychiatric Disorders : Expertise in diagnosing and treating a range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and others.
- Cultural Competency : Understanding of and sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences in treating patients from various communities.
- Commitment to Excellence : Strong commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care and staying updated on the latest research and treatment options in psychiatry.
- Fellowship or Specialty Training in areas like addiction psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, or child / adolescent psychiatry is a plus.
- Experience with Digital Health Tools : Familiarity with virtual care technologies and platforms that enhance the telehealth experience.
