Meritus Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our Trauma Acute Care Service line.
Working independently and in collaboration with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners (NP), this person is responsible for delivering care and integrate patient services to patients with the goal of achieving specific clinical, financial and satisfaction outcomes for specific patient populations and disease processes. This person will coordinate with patient's healthcare team and adhere to ethical principles of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and the ANA code of ethics for nurses. Delivers healthcare in a therapeutic and professional manner demonstrating sensitivity towards unique patient / significant other needs. Preserves and protects the patient's autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs. Demonstrates the ability to advocate for the patients.
The trauma team’s skills set includes but not limited to :
- Mix of trauma and emergency general surgery admissions and consults
- Rounding on patients
- Coordinating effective discharges
- Central lines
- Chest tubes
Minimum Qualifications :
Experience - Trauma experience is required.
Education – completion of Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program Doctorate Degree in Nursing Preferred. Completion of a Certified Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program required.
Licensure / Certification - License to practice as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Maryland required. Current DEA Registration and CDS permit required. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy required. ACLS in compliance with policy required.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities - Demonstrates critical thinking, extensive clinical competence and expertise. Demonstrated ability to work well with all disciplines at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Fluency in coding, ICD-10 and CPT, or commitment to acquire.

Compensation : The salary range for these positions is $118,000 - $140,000.
