Job Title: Physician (Orthopedic Surgeon)
Fort Leonard Wood is home to the U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear School, Army Engineer School, and U.S. Army Military Police School.
The Fort trains and educates nearly 90 thousand troops a year. It also hosts Marines, Airmen, Sailors, Coast Guardsmen and international students from allied nations.

Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur to individuals presented for care.
- Manage difficult outpatient, inpatient and operative orthopedic cases.
- Provide education and training to technicians, physicians, physician assistants, and therapists.
- Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending referrals to other health care providers.
- Responsible for administrative activities associated with patient care in a hospital setting.
Requirements:
To qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements below.
A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a school in the United States or Canada is required.
You must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, you must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must also complete the required accredited residency training in Orthopedic Surgery and have equivalent experience and training equal to at least 5 years.
