Florida State University (FSU) seeks a visionary leader to serve as its inaugural Vice President and Chief Clinical Operations Officer to help build and execute the clinical operations of FSU Health. Reporting to the President, the VP & CCOO will play a critical role in building FSU’s burgeoning FSU Health organization. Ultimately, FSU Health is envisioned to be a unique academic health system designed to leverage FSU’s academic and research strengths to address the health and healthcare needs of the communities that call the northern Florida and southern Georgia corridors home.

Position Summary
To begin FSU Health’s ascent toward its visionary goals, the inaugural VP & CCOO will work closely with the University’s senior administration to establish policies and partnerships and launch effective programs that focus on building, growing, and further integrating FSU’s clinical operations with FSU’s academic and research enterprises. As FSU and FSU Health prepare for this significant undertaking, the inaugural VP & CCOO must embrace innovation, possess a forward-thinking mindset, and approach the role with a long-term strategic vision when considering how FSU’s assets today can bolster FSU Health’s infrastructure tomorrow.
FSU Health’s ambitious vision for the future of health care in North Florida and beyond encompasses three critical elements that combine research, health education, and patient care. Moreover, FSU Health will work with patients across a broad spectrum of specialties, transforming how its community accesses world-class health care and measurably improving access and health outcomes in the region. The VP & CCOO will serve under the general supervision of the FSU President and work in close collaboration with the University Provost, Vice President for Research, Dean of the College of Medicine and other affiliated Colleges (Nursing, Engineering, Arts & Sciences, Education and Health and Human Sciences, Social Science and Public Policy, Social Work, and Business) and other senior university leaders to establish policies and partnerships and launch effective programs to :
- Advance FSU Health’s clinical operations through the establishment and implementation of a multi-year plan that defines clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations of FSU’s faculty practice plan, clinical facilities, and improves integration with partner organizations.
- Cultivate a culture, reputation, and brand of FSU Health around quality care, safety, and innovation.
- Leverage the strengths and resources of FSU and our partner organizations to support all three prongs of the AHC mission (Health Education, Health Research, and Clinical Care).
- Assess regional needs for healthcare that promote FSU Health now and into the future.
- Ensure compliance of clinical management, shared services, and other partnering agreements.
