About the Role
We're seeking a hands-on QA Engineer to join Healthie's Engineering team and help deliver a best-in-class product. This role is essential to ensuring our product meets the highest quality standards as we continue to scale, contributing to both short-term releases and long-term product excellence.
As a QA Engineer, you'll work closely with your squad's Product Manager and Technical Lead to design and scope comprehensive QA testing efforts. You'll develop and execute test plans, identify defects, and ensure full coverage across all features and user stories. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll proactively communicate testing progress and blockers, while ensuring that we maintain HIPAA compliance and continually improve our internal QA processes.
If you're passionate about driving quality in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with teams to resolve issues, and enhancing the customer experience through thorough testing, this role is for you. Reporting to the QA Manager, this position is ideal for someone with hands-on QA experience, a strong understanding of testing best practices, and a desire to make an impact in healthcare technology. - This is a full-time W-2, Remote position, located in the United States
- The base salary for this role is $89,000 - $100,000 per year.
- U.S. work authorization is required and Healthie does not provide sponsorship.
- You have 4 years of recent experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, testing web applications or mobile platforms.
- You are skilled in writing detailed test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- You have proven experience with API testing, ensuring reliability and functionality.
- You are able to clearly and concisely document defects, enabling engineers to replicate and resolve issues effectively.
- You possess strong prioritization skills to balance short-term needs and long-term business goals.
- You are a proactive communicator, able to recommend process improvements and workflow changes within a fast-moving team.
- You are comfortable working with command-line interfaces, such as Rails console.
- You are capable of working independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively when required.
- You thrive in a remote-first, agile environment and excel in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
- You are committed to continuously improving documentation and testing processes.
- You have strong experience in root cause analysis and contributing to remediation test planning.
- You have experience with test automation and tools like RSpec, Capybara, Mocha, Cypress, Jest, or similar (expertise in at least one).
- You are proficient with cloud testing tools such as BrowserStack, Lambda Test, or similar.
- You have experience with API testing tools like Postman.
- You are familiar with Rails applications and development frameworks.
- You have experience working in regulated industries like healthcare, finance, or security, with healthcare experience strongly preferred.
