We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Supply Chain Management Consultant to support procurement, logistics, inventory management, and regulatory compliance within a healthcare environment. This role will focus on documenting supply chain workflows, developing contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, and ensuring compliance with healthcare procurement regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare supply chain operations, vendor management, purchasing controls, and cost optimization. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance supply chain efficiency, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the consultant will play a key role in training supply chain teams and leadership on best practices, compliance protocols, and downtime preparedness to maintain seamless operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide supply chain consulting for healthcare organizations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements such as FDA, CMS, Joint Commission, and state procurement guidelines.
- Assess supply chain risks, inefficiencies, and compliance gaps, recommending process improvements.
- Document supply chain workflows, procurement policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Develop and implement downtime procedures for supply chain operations to ensure continuity in inventory and procurement processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, compliance, operations, and clinical staff) to enhance vendor management, contract negotiations, and supply chain resilience.
- Monitor and interpret healthcare supply chain trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Assist in internal audits, supply chain risk assessments, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Provide training and support on supply chain best practices, inventory management strategies, and emergency preparedness protocols.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience in healthcare supply chain management, procurement, or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare purchasing, inventory control, vendor relations, and supply chain compliance.
- Experience documenting supply chain workflows, procurement policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Familiarity with downtime procedures for supply chain operations in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to analyze complex supply chain and regulatory issues and provide actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) or other relevant supply chain certifications.
- Experience with ERP systems, procurement software, and inventory management solutions.
- Background in supply chain risk management, contract negotiation, and cost-reduction strategies.
