Logistics Agent
- 40 hours per week
- Location: Memphis
Purpose
(Proactively) informing customers of the status of the flow of goods, processing orders and maintaining customer contact.
Core Activities
Maintaining client contact
- being the first point of contact for the client regarding orders
- maintaining contact with clients
- (proactively) exchanging operational information with the customer and relevant internal parties
- be attentive to client questions, wants and needs that come in via telephone, tickets and email and stimulate the operational relationship
- receiving and monitoring the handling of complaints
- giving feedback to the customer regarding complaints, if necessary in consultation with the supervisor
Processing orders and data
- taking orders, allocating stock to orders and administrative handling in the Warehouse Management System
- releasing orders in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for warehouse locations
- scheduling of rush, express and road transports in the Transport Management System
- taking rush and WCOC (Will Call) orders, allocating orders and following up on flow of goods
- monitoring qualitative and quantitative progress using the WMS system and adjusting priorities and planning in consultation with the supervisor
- processing changed priorities and correcting disruptions in consultation with the supervisor and the warehouse
- ensuring coordination of various sub-processes
- identifying bottlenecks in the operational process and discussing them with the supervisor
Managed administration
- checking, entering and updating customer data using the information system
- recording (settled) questions, complaints and customer agreements in the information system
- provide record keeping and archiving
- preparation of standard customer overviews
- processing mutations and making corrections
- generating, arranging and processing data from files and archives
- performing other administrative tasks
Additional contributions
- making (improvement) proposals to the supervisor
- participate in projects aimed at improving the existing
- compliance with legal and company obligations and procedures
- various other duties as assigned
Education, knowledge and experience:
- Highschool graduate with continuing education in Logisitcs preferred
- Some relevant job experience
Competencies and skills:
- Social and communication skills for maintaining contacts (verbal and written)
- Proficient with computerized information systems
- Proficient with MS office
