JOB PURPOSE
The Sr. Database Developer plays an advanced role in all aspects of the Information Technology Department including database analysis, query writing, creation of stored procedures, SSIS packages, SQL jobs, and data movement.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Ensures data integrity among systems
Collaborates to define projects, develops and interprets business rules, and debugs technical issues when they arise
Applies business and database analysis skills to gain deep understanding of user's needs
Aids in the definition and creation of solutions that meet user's needs
Develops custom database objects, stored procedures, functions, and T-SQL
Designs and implements SSIS packages and other ETL processes
Effectively communicates project status and planning activities with team and customers
Troubleshoots slow performing queries and database servers
Provides support for off-hour deployments and production issues
Participates in off-hours support rotation
Follows established Company and department standards and best practices
Stays abreast of industry trends and technologies
Works independently and within the team structure
Effectively communicates project status and planning activities with team and customers
Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Consistently demonstrates compliance with HIPAA regulations, professional conduct, and ethical practice
Works to encourage and promote Company culture throughout the organization

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or closely related field
Minimum of 4 years' experience with all phases of enterprise software design and development
4 years minimum experience with SQL Server 2008 or higher, T-SQL development
4 years minimum experience with SSIS development and deployment
4 years minimum experience with Data Warehouse Development / Dimensional Modeling
Database Administrator roles (backup, restore, security) experience preferred
Intermediate level experience with object-oriented software engineering in an enterprise environment using the MS Visual Studio suite of tools
Proven analytical skills interpreting and implementing business and functional requirements
Healthcare information experience preferred
SSAS experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Moderate to significant amount of stress in meeting deadlines and dealing with day-to-day responsibilities. Must be able to drive a vehicle and daytime / overnight travel as required.
