  • Hours & Schedule: Full-Time (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
  • Work Environment: Behavioral Health Residential Facility (10-bed adolescent treatment center)
  • Salary / Hourly Rate: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Summary

The Adolescent Therapist provides professional counseling services to individuals, families, and groups at our 10-bed Behavioral Health Residential Facility. This role is responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, monitoring progress, and providing therapeutic interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs.

The therapist will work closely with the clinical director, case management team, and director of operations to ensure comprehensive care for each adolescent in treatment. The goal is to help clients improve their mental health and develop essential coping skills for long-term recovery.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide therapy services to clients at the 10-bed Behavioral Health Residential Facility.
  • Conduct initial evaluations, progress assessments, and discharge planning for all clients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with families and guardians.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Director and Director of Operations to coordinate care.
  • Report any significant client events, unusual behavior, or concerns to the Director of Operations and Clinical Director immediately.
  • Maintain strict ethical and professional standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with facility policies.
  • Provide documentation and reports as needed for clinical and billing purposes.
  • Address urgent client needs that arise outside of scheduled therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with facility policies and treatment plans.
  • Ensure effective communication with clients, families, and the treatment team.

Prerequisites / License & Certification Requirements
  • Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Licensure: Must hold one of the following:
    • Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC)
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
    • Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of behavioral health experience required
  • Adolescent Treatment Experience: Experience working with adolescents highly preferred; a strong desire to serve this demographic required.
  • Driver’s License: Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Fingerprint Clearance: Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and interventions for adolescents.
    • Ability to adapt treatment approaches based on client needs.
    • Experience in individual, family, and group therapy settings.
    • Excellent communication and active listening skills to establish rapport with clients.
    • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
    • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills to formulate effective treatment plans.
    • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and therapy-related software.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
