Position: Family Therapist
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Part-Time, Full-Time
Setting: Residential Treatment Center
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 per year

- Conduct two structured family therapy sessions per week for each client:
- One session with parents only to provide education, support, and coaching
- One session with adolescents and parents to improve communication and address relational dynamics
- Facilitate a bi-weekly group family coaching session, incorporating psychoeducation, skill-building, and peer support
- Utilize evidence-based approaches such as Family Systems Therapy, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Provide parent coaching and education on topics such as communication strategies, boundary setting, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention
- Collaborate with clinical teams and case managers to ensure family therapy aligns with each client’s treatment plan
- Support successful transitions and aftercare planning for families
- Maintain timely and accurate progress notes, treatment plans, and family session documentation in accordance with state regulations and Joint Commission standards
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review client progress and adjust therapeutic interventions as needed

- Education: Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
- Licensure: Licensed or license-eligible in Arizona (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent)
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year providing family therapy, preferably in behavioral health or a residential treatment setting
- Expertise: Experience working with adolescents and families impacted by mental health challenges, substance use, and trauma
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of family dynamics, attachment theory, and parenting strategies for at-risk youth
- Ability to facilitate group family coaching with confidence and sensitivity
- Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training in Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing (MI), DBT, or CBT for families
- Experience working with diverse family structures and populations
- Education: Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
- Licensure: Licensed or license-eligible in Arizona (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent)
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year providing family therapy, preferably in behavioral health or a residential treatment setting
