Job Summary:

The Rehabilitation Services Manager provides overall management of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Cardiac Rehabilitation, and provides clinical services in his/her area of certification.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of all Leaders:

  1. Provide Leadership consistent with Hutchinson Health’s vision of Health as it could be, Affordability as it must be, through relationships built on trust.
  2. Maintain a consistent, visible and positive role within the organization.
  3. Ensure departments are in compliance with all laws and regulatory bodies. Communicates and educates staff and develops processes to ensure compliance is continuously met.
  4. Practices fiscal responsibility and cost control by monitoring and adhering to financial reports, forecasts and budgets. Includes staff in continuous efforts of financial improvement.
  5. Plans and delegates the work of others. Maintains appropriate staffing and follows service area productivity guidelines and expectations. Involves staff in continuous efforts to identify and implement productivity improvement initiatives.
  6. Monitors patient experience, quality and/or customer service as applicable and involves staff in continuous efforts towards improvement.
  7. Follows HR policies. Interviews, hires, orients and trains new staff. Supervises, coaches, counsels and appraises service area staff. Retains solid and high performing staff.
  8. Facilitates communication and teamwork between departments to build relationships and facilitate department and interdepartmental success.
  9. Develops and tracks service area policies procedures, processes and competencies and communicates updates and changes regularly with staff. Manages service area contracts per Contract Review policies.
  10. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities for this service area leader:

  1. Provides management oversight of day-to-day operations of Hutchinson Rehab Clinic, Inpatient Rehab Services and Cardiac Rehab Clinic.
  2. In concert with the President and VPCO, develops and evolves a strategic vision and plan for the service areas.
  3. In collaboration with the VPCO and other leaders, identifies, evaluates and implements new services to support comprehensive medical care.
  4. Works closely with the VPCO, Medical Director(s) and Leadership to provide quality care for patients.
  5. Completes regular evaluation of Patient Satisfaction and implements improvement strategies.
  6. Ensures clinic policies and procedures are current and communicated amongst staff.
  7. Maintains knowledge of current regulations/requirements specific to the Clinic (e.g. Joint Commission, 3 rd party payers, etc.).
  8. Establishes quality review and improvement processes and regularly updates same, annually developing and monitoring quality improvement goals.
  9. Facilitates continuing education of professional staff, striving to provide the best current evidence-based care.
  10. In concert with organizational marketing staff, develops and continuously evaluates and updates plan for marketing services to patients and referring professionals.
  11. Maintains clinical skills, setting an example of excellence in Rehabilitation Services.
  12. Ensures the department is in compliance with all regulatory and insurance requirements by staying informed in changes related to these areas, communicating these changes with staff, and developing auditing processes to ensure compliance is being met.

  4. Observes all Environment of Care policies and reports safety risks or hazards immediately.

Education, Training or Degree Required:

  1. Certification in a related clinical discipline (PT, OT, ST). Three years health care management experience preferred.

Pay Range Statement: Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Pay within our ranges may also be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities as well as internal equity. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation based on role (e.g., shift differential, bonus, sales incentive, productivity pay, etc.).
