LEAD RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST
Position Overview:
The Lead Residential Specialist is a hands-on, first-level leadership role responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Residential Rehabilitation Program, which serves clients recovering from severe mental illness. This position ensures the delivery of trauma-informed, person-centered care while fostering a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment that promotes stabilization, skill development, and independence. The Lead Residential Specialist collaborates with rehabilitation team members to maintain high standards of service, oversee residential operations, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Uphold confidentiality and ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations, CARF accreditation standards, and state regulations.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to input, track, and review data, service notes, and staff and client schedules. Ensure accurate shift log documentation.
- Work directly in residences to ensure homes are clean, safe, and well-maintained, creating a welcoming environment for clients. Address and follow up on maintenance needs.
- Provide training and guidance to Residential Specialists, supporting their skill development and alignment with organizational culture and practices.
- Assist in scheduling and supervising staff to ensure adequate coverage when the Residential Supervisor is unavailable.
- Support the development and implementation of individualized recovery plans and programming to promote stabilization, community reintegration, and independent living skills for clients.
- Ensure proper management of medications, including availability and accurate documentation.
- Coordinate healthcare services to meet clients’ somatic, psychiatric, and substance use needs.
- Support clients in maintaining entitlements and updating records.
- Facilitate weekly client meetings to address needs and goals.
- Take part in agency-sponsored training and assist in onboarding and training new Residential Specialists.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services field or equivalent experience.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to meet credentialing and privileging requirements as outlined in organizational policies and procedures.
