The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer works on projects to meet business needs. This position is responsible for working with Business Analysts and key business contacts to translate functional and technical specifications into a comprehensive reporting design; assists in requirements analysis, data analysis, data mapping, report development & testing, report modifications and documentation; and determines and develops strategy and framework for consistent report standards. Under limited supervision, the BI Developer performs research/audit and analyzes high level complex/advanced data; defines, designs and develops new/enhanced reports; and works closely with stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance systems utilizing problem solving skill.
Design, build and maintain HealthRIGHT’s Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, including but not limited to production reports, ad hoc reports/analyses and data extracts. Partners with users throughout the organization to create reports, interactive visualizations and dashboards, and prepare and model data.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and own the data outputs and solutions for dashboards, reports and data sources in Power BI.
- Maintain the enterprise data collections in order to address requests appropriately, including report catalogs, data catalogs, documentation and metadata.
- Manage Power BI administrative functions and develop enterprise standards and templates, including tenant settings, workspace management, and distribution options.
- Work with other team members and resources on application workflows, data collection processes and developing reusable data sources.
- Meet with requestors and stakeholders to define data and reporting needs.
- Analyze data and the business processes behind the data in order to facilitate data quality and correct interpretation of information.
- Function as backup to other team members. Should be familiar with SQL Server and basic ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) processes to follow documented processes.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education, Certification, and Experience Required:
- Two-year Associate degree in related field or quantitative discipline such as Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics required. May be substituted with a combination of four years of highly relevant experience, in which two years include clinical information systems and/or health data reporting.
- Minimum of two years direct experience with SSRS and/or data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Solid knowledge of relational and dimensional concepts, ETL processes and data modeling.
Desired:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science or related field preferred.
Background Clearance:
- Must not be on active parole or probation, clear with OIG database.
- Ability to obtain and maintain satisfactory background check.
Knowledge Desired:
- Microsoft BI-stack preferred.
- Microsoft Visual Studio and/or SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools) highly preferred.
- Experience with Power Query/M, DAX and Python preferred.
- Electronic Health Records/Practice Management experience a plus.
- Understanding of modern data architecture, DevOps, and DataOps a plus.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to read and interpret technical and other complex documents. Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. People-facing and presentation skills, and negotiation skills. Make recommendations to management on technical direction.
- Research new and emerging database technologies. Perform critical analysis of the technology for possible implementation in existing environment.
- Use time management techniques to ensure on time task completion and identify conflicting priorities to management.
Desired:
- One of the following (or equivalent) preferred: Azure Administrator Associate, Database Administrator Associate, and/or Data Analyst Associate Microsoft certifications.
