Job Overview

The Correctional Health Services- Substance Use Disorder (CHS-SUD) program is a collaboration between Correctional Health Services (CHS) and the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department (LASD) and establishes in-custody substance use disorder treatment services at the Century Regional Detention Facility (female general population) and Twin Towers Correctional Facility (co-occurring mental health needs). The CHS-SUD program is built upon evidence-based treatment models that address such issues as substance abuse, trauma, risk for criminal recidivism, and relapse prevention. The program addresses the varied needs of the inmate population, by offering programming focused on SUD education, treatment services with different levels of care, including group counseling services, case management, and community reintegration.

Clinical Supervisors are responsible for the clinical oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Correctional Health Services - Substance Use Disorder (CHS-SUD) program at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood and Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. The Clincial Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all clinical services are evidenced based, trauma informed, and are provided in a high quality manner, with a focus on outstanding customer service. Clinical Supervisor demonstrates ownership, leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to motivate and inspire a high performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct day-to-day clinical supervision and development of counseling staff and may provide counseling services to a caseload of participants in need of SUD treatment.
• Develops in collaboration with the Program Manager and/or Director, documentation of clinical programming and procedures, ensures appropriate training and supervision of staff providing direct services to participants.
• Responsible for day-to-day implementation and maintenance of treatment planning and the maintenance of accurate documentation of participants participation and progress during treatment in accordance with all regulatory agency standards, which includes reviewing and signing off on ASAM (American Science of Addiction Medicine) assessments and treatment plans.
• First line of consultation for counselors regarding routine counseling functions, treatment methods, and participation interventions.
• Responsible for ensuring services reflect a strong recovery orientation, cultural sensitivity, and awareness of the unique needs of the SUD population.
• Responsible for ensuring that quality, evidence-based, cutting edge services are provided to clients at all times, including maintenance of records.
• Responsible for all direct reports submitting documentation in accordance with program requirements and in compliance with all regulatory requirement and HealthRIGHT360 policies and procedures.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience Required:

• Masters and/or Doctorate Degree in Behavioral Health or closely related field with knowledge of substance use disorders and mental health.
• License eligible and registered with Board of Behavioral Science (BBS); receiving supervision from a licensed individual.
• Minimum 2 years experience providing services to MH and/or SUD population.

Preferred:

• Licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPHA, or licensed PhD/PsyD).
• Background Clearance

Required:

• DHS and LASD clearance 2.
• Must not be on parole or probation for minimum of 5 years.

Home base office is in El Monte but position will be working at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility (TTCF) 30% of the time and the Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF) 30% of the time.
