Job Overview
This is a union position.
Prototypes offers residential and outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and mental health services. Prototypes is a leader in the field of SUD services community mental health, and criminal justice treatment. Prototypes installs hope that recovery is possible. This position is for our DMC funded, residential substance abuse treatment program.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitors client's progress toward achieving treatment plan goals and provides treatment plan input.
- Utilizes trauma informed care while applying motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and evidence-based practices.
- Works collaboratively with other members of the treatment team including the Case Manager, Clinical Therapist, Medical, and Psychiatrist.
- Maintains frequent communication with the treatment team and engages in regular consults, clinical team, case conferences, and plan development meetings.
- Delivers services in outpatient treatment setting.
- Responsible for treatment oversight of the clients on their caseload.
- Maintains compliance with due dates for all clinical documentation.
- Writes client progress letters and court reports and obtains final approval from the supervisor.
- Documentation must maintain in compliance with agency policy and procedures, HIPAA, 42-CFR, DMH, and SAPC standards.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Registered or Certified substance abuse counselor Completion/near completion of Alcohol and Drug Counseling education for certification.
- A minimum of two year's experience in a supported housing environment.
- Experience working with substance abusers and/or re-entry populations.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
