HealthSource Saginaw (HSS) is looking for Nursing Supervisor.
Part-time: Weekends (11:00 am - 11:00 pm/Variable)
Rate of pay rate established by verified experience.
Eligible part-time positions will be offered a sign-on bonus of $3,000.

Requirements
- Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required.
- Licensed in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in working with adults, children and adolescents in an inpatient psychiatric facility are desirable.
- Supervisory experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
- Ability to work with child and adolescent populations as demonstrated through educational accomplishment or work experience.
- A working knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS and patient rights standards, and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities relating to direct patient care.
- Approved CPR certification
Summary
- Utilize staffing grid as a guideline in determining the optimal allocation of staff, on each unit.
- Adjust staffing based on changes in unit acuity. Receives/records employee call-offs and replaces vacancies as needed. Mandates, when necessary, following mandation protocol.
- Oversee/coordinate patient care on assigned shift. Communicates non-emergent shifts concerns to Nurse Manager and/or other appropriate individuals (via e-mails, voice mail, shift report, etc.).
- Complete daily shift report and distributes to Nurse Manager.
- Serve as administrative authority for all units on assigned shift. Notifies Director of Nursing or Nurse Manager of urgent concerns during the shift.
- Address/resolve employee, patient and family complaints. Refers follow up information to appropriate source.
- Assist in survey compliance, quality assurance/performance improvement and staff development duties, as assigned.
- Notify Nurse Manager of identified staff learning or training needs.
- Provide input to Nurse Manager upon completion of evaluations for employee.
- Assist with annual budget preparation by identifying supply and equipment needs. Operates within approved unit budgets.
- Counsel personnel, as indicated. Completes appropriate documentation and communicates with Nurse Manager.
- Round on all units to monitor the delivery of clinical care provided to patients.
- Supervise staff and assures survey compliance on a daily basis. Provide guidance and support to staff to better plan work flow in which may include working the unit.
- Assist/direct RNs in completing risk assessments and investigations of injury.
- Assist RNs in assessing patients who are experiencing acute changes.
- Provide clinical expertise in the management of medical and psychiatric emergencies.
- Provide clinical expertise in medical management, crisis and behavior management techniques.
- Direct staff response to facility emergencies, such as severe weather, fire or threats. Participate in emergency drills. Directs disaster evacuation plan, as needed.
- Meets routinely with nursing leadership.
- Assist with the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
- Punctual and regular attendance is required.
- Compliance with mandatory overtime required when necessary.
