- Graduate of an accredited professional degree program (i.e., RN, MD, PhD, NP, OT, PT, SLP, etc.) with a current Michigan license in good standing and/or Bachelor degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources or Human Performance required. Masters or other equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in Learning and Development, Organization and Talent Development, Talent Management, HR Business Partner or related discipline preferably in the healthcare industry.
- 5 years of experience creating and leading programs and initiatives, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
- Vendor and contract management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with prior experience in leading a team preferred.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and the teaching/learning process acquired through continuing education activities and/or formal academic classes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Implements and leads training and organizational development strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Proactively collaborates with leadership to create annual training plans. Designs and leads training efforts which meet regulatory guidelines and clinical best practice to support excellence throughout organization.
- Assists with targeted development plans, coaching and career pathing as part of succession planning to align with organizational objectives.
- Acts as a role model for the HSS Mission, Vision, Values and Leadership Expectations.
- Leads and develops the Education Team which consists of the Facility and Program Educators.
- Is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of learning throughout the employment life cycle for staff.
- Designs, develops, coordinates and delivers training, education and coaching with a focus on leadership development.
- Oversees quality in execution of training delivered by Educators.
- Manages onboarding of new leaders and physicians/providers across organization.
- Supports and participates in the Performance Improvement Process focusing on facility wide safety initiatives.
- Supports development and training of evidence-based policies, procedures, standards, practices and programs that provide safe, quality and cost-effective patient/resident care services.
- Actively participates in leadership forums and supports patient/resident safety, quality and risk initiatives.
- Lead Account Manager for Relias Learning Management System.
- Directs Educators in training audits as required to meet regulatory requirements or survey readiness efforts.
- Leads and coordinates education budget, contracts, programs and relationships with community learning partners, schools, Universities, intern/residency programs and other learning vendors.
- Coordinates student internships, collaborates with Medical Staff office on physician or resident onboarding, and facilitates student shadowing or programs.
- Champions facility efforts to assess employee engagement through periodic surveys and action plans. (ie. Press Ganey biannual survey).
- Supports Educators as needed to coordinate or deliver staff education initiatives.
- Is proficient in IT systems used by clinical staff such as the learning management system, intranet, policy repository and electronic medical records.
- Assists with grant or project management that include organizational development and training objectives.
- Develops and maintains organizational development and training policy and procedures.
- Positively represents facility and works effectively within the community to promote good will and garner support for the HSS Mission.
