Education:
Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
Requirements
Must have State of Tennessee Registered Radiologic Technologist x-ray license.
Must possess valid American Registry Radiologic Technologist and CT certification
Description
Essential Functions:
- Prepares patients for CT procedures.
- Obtains images following established procedures for patient care and safety under direction of physician.
- Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials
- Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
- Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical supplies.
- Burns imaging CD’s.
- Must be willing to answer phones.
- Perform basic patient care and willing to train in other areas.
- Knowledge of CT procedures and protocols, PACS, RIS.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform CT testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
- Knowledge or CT equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality as directed by HIPAA standards.
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting and records.
- Knowledge of clinic/medical practice procedures related to all medical operations.
- Must be skilled in customer service and have a pleasant and courteous demeanor while dealing with all patients and callers.
- Must be well organized and detail organized and be able to work independently without much supervision.
- Must have skills in critical thinking, communication, influence and decision making.
- Must have the ability to work cooperatively as a member of office staff and team.
- Must have computer skills
- Combination of walking, bending, reaching, lifting, transferring activities.
- Must be able to use correct body mechanics to assist patients appropriately.
- Occasional stress from multiple requests.
