Essential Functions :
- Directs, coordinates all activities, services and functions of the Diagnostics / Imaging Department.
- Responsible for staffing, duty assignment, overtime and payroll approvals, and evaluations.
- Oversees the daily operation of the Diagnostic / Imaging Department to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals.
- Oversees the operations of diagnostic / imaging equipment, evaluating accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance to staff.
- Demonstrates new techniques, equipment and procedures to staff as applicable.
- Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develops and implements departmental policy and procedure regarding operations and purchasing of diagnostic / imaging supplies.
- Develops departmental goals and objectives to provide health care for patients and referring physicians.
- Helps in determining departmental budget requirements and seeks to maintain expenditures within establish guidelines.
- Ensures compliance with all state regulations and other governing bodies of healthcare.
- Collects data, prepares reports, and compiles statistics for administration.
- Attends required meetings and serves on committees as directed.
- Works closely with the medical staff to ensure appropriate, efficient and superior quality patient care.
- Adheres to established company policies and procedures and guidelines.
- Performs duties in a professional manner wile exhibiting a courteous and cooperative demeanor to co-workers, management, and the public.
- Maintains strict confidentiality, both internally and externally.
- In person regular and punctual attendance.
- Performs other appropriate duties, as assigned.
- Knowledge of the latest technological advances in diagnostics and imaging.
- Knowledge of quality of control procedures.
- Familiarity of all diagnostic testing and findings.
- Knowledge of State and regulatory compliance for Radiology.
- Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
- Knowledge of health care administration principles.
- Skill in gathering, analyzing and interpreting information.
- Skill in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving and decision-making.

- Frequent standing and working for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally may need to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications
Education
Associates Degree at minimum, Bachelor Degree preferred, Completion of course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Certifications and Requirements :
Current certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Must have State Registered Radiologic Technologist license. (State of Tennessee Medical x-ray operator)
