Job Summary And Qualifications
The Manager of Pharmacy Systems and Internal Control is responsible for developing, directing, communicating, and analyzing pharmacy data for the HCA including the consolidated pharmacy warehouses. This position will be responsible for managing the pharmacy master files, coordinate master file synchronization, data analysis and/or data cleansing to maintain the integrity of the master pharmacy files. This position will also be responsible for drawing inferences and trends from large pharmaceutical data sets (e.g. wholesaler data) and providing pertinent recommendations.

Job Summary And Qualifications
The Manager of Pharmacy Systems and Internal Control is responsible for developing, directing, communicating, and analyzing pharmacy data for the HCA including the consolidated pharmacy warehouses. This position will be responsible for managing the pharmacy master files, coordinate master file synchronization, data analysis and/or data cleansing to maintain the integrity of the master pharmacy files. This position will also be responsible for drawing inferences and trends from large pharmaceutical data sets (e.g. wholesaler data) and providing pertinent recommendations.
What you will do in this role includes:
- Interacts with IDN-Specific System, CSC (Consolidated Service Center) and Division Pharmacy Team members, Facility Pharmacy teams, CSC Internal Control Staff, and corporate HCA and HealthTrust pharmacy team
- Assess and assist in providing leadership in the area of pharmacy SMART system and master file standardization to guide and support organization’s strategy
- Maintains and updates all aspects of the Approved Inventory List (AIL) including, but not limited to SIN (standard item number) creation and maintenance, changes due to shortages, contracting and formulary .
- Collaborate with corporate supply chain pharmacy team to assist with product analysis and selection.
- Work with corporate pharmacy supply chain team to identify and manage shortages, contracting changes or formulary changes.
- Coordinate demand shift for crucial items with wholesaler and GPO.
- Assimilates information from variety of sources, able to analyze data and make recommendations and executes a course of action.
- Collaborates with Analytics to maintain accurate purchasing data, drug categorization (e.g. General Ledger assignments) and other data related elements.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) around pharmacy contract compliance, market share programs, SKU reduction and expense reduction and recommend a course of action for low performers.
- Researches, corrects, trends, maps, loads data files from multiple consolidated service centers.
- Provides data analysis and/or data cleansing at routine intervals to support optimization of pharmacy item files
- Manage all VIRA (Vendor & Item Request Application) requests for new drug adds or changes and aligns request with other considerations such as pharmacy formulary and preferred contract.
- Assist in communicating facility drug file issues and requests to CSC pharmacy team.
- Educates the field (CSC pharmacy staff, facility buyers, division pharmacy team members) on pertinent topics and able to recommend a course of action.
- Minimum of Associate’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Healthcare Administration - Required
- Minimum 5 years of inventory management/purchasing contract experience in hospital pharmacy, group purchasing organization or similar setting required. Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Power-Point, and Access database, purchasing vendor applications, and others as required. Must have knowledge of pharmacy activities and duties including drug terminology, purchasing, contracts, and nomenclature - Required
