Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Vice President of Pharmacy Services, you will lead the pharmaceutical services in the division. This includes oversight of hospital pharmacy departments in the division, leadership of cost containment efforts in pharmacy, and regulatory preparedness. You will support the Division Supply Chain CEO and Division Clinical Resource Director as a subject matter expert in the review of pharmacy purchase patterns. You will also develop models for pharmacy business processes to optimize and enhance operating results across the company.

What you will do in this role:

• 
  Provide leadership in the areas of pharmacy clinical services, operations, compliance and expense management for the overall strategic plan for the Division and for individual facilities. The goal is to improve Pharmacy Services and ensure achievement of the goals and objectives of HCA’s pharmacy program.

• 
  Meet and build relationships with senior executives by presenting and discussing industry trends, best in class strategies, and gaining buy in for program objectives.

• 
  Align annual DOP and division pharmacy team goals and objectives with company, group, division, facility goals.

• 
  Establish and help meet annual consolidated service and facility budgets.

• 
  Establish and meet expense savings goals of the division and facilities.

• 
  Participate in and implement expense savings strategies for clinical pharmacy, pharmacy operations, and consolidated solutions.

• 
  Demonstrate understanding of regulatory requirements for acute care hospitals.

• 
  Assist in developing key Pharmacy business process models to be implemented in Division or Corporate HCA.

• 
  Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, remove barriers and resistance, and enable desired behaviors of team and stakeholders.

What qualifications you will need:

• 
  B.S. in Pharmacy is required.

• 
  Doctor of Pharmacy, MBA, or MS, is preferred.

• 
  You must have a minimum of 5 years of progressive pharmacy management experience, preferably within multi-site operations in an acute care setting.

• Licensed pharmacist (must become licensed in the state practicing within 6 months or sooner if mandated by State Board of Pharmacy)
