As the AVP Clinical Resource Management, you are responsible for leading, developing, communicating, and providing support for implementing clinical supply chain initiatives. The AVP role is responsible for measuring, monitoring, and reporting progress to member and GPO leadership to ensure that all elements of the supply expense management agenda and work plan are being accomplished. This individual is responsible for building strategic relationships and ongoing alliances with corporate and facility leadership, clinical service line leaders, physicians, supply chain leaders, GPO and IDN sourcing, and other key stakeholders as it relates to successfully implementing a clinically integrated supply chain.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

Leadership

  • Builds relationships with executives and other leaders by presenting and discussing industry trends, best in class strategies, and gaining buy in for supply expense initiatives.
  • Provides leadership in the area of expense management to contribute to overall strategic plan to improve supply expenses in a variety of departments.
  • Provides leadership to service line directors in the area of expense management to contribute to the member’s overall supply expense management plan.
  • Works with service line directors, clinical resource directors, and supply chain leadership to establish and ensure ongoing effectiveness of facility value analysis teams (CiVAT).
  • Develops, implements and coordinates within the member’s system and facilities:
  • Participates in development and optimization of facility Value Analysis Teams to HealthTrust's best practices
  • Provide leadership to account management and implementation resources to ensure customer relationship is being preserved at highest level.
  • Assimilates information from variety of sources, able to analyze data and make strategic recommendations and executes a course of action for all elements of supply expense management and supply chain operations

Customer Service

  • Responsible for managing customer expectations and delivering cost savings according to estimated timelines
  • Minimizing overlap of focus with contracts already negotiated or those in process by the contracting team
  • Continuously defines, improves, and coordinates development and delivery of customer solutions Utilizing customer participation in the process to achieve goals and objectives
  • Interacts and develops relationships with internal and external stakeholders to better understand needs and challenges, which may include clinicians, physicians, supply chain, hospital, and system leadership.
  • Provides educational opportunities to customers to understand the expense management program.
  • Builds and maintains strong, effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders at corporate and facility services lines, HealthTrust, Supply Chain, and the organization's leadership and Regional Value Analysis Teams.

Financial

  • Demonstrates financial acumen which includes:
  • Interpreting spend profile to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review of financial reports to determine negative and positive variances
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze financial and clinical performance data to identify variation opportunities and make recommendations to the team and organization in alignment with the organization's strategic plan.
  • Establishes and meets supply expense savings goals for customers as requested.
  • Collaborates with organizations to track and analyze financial data, which may include but is not limited to supply expense savings.

Project Management

  • Directs multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment that includes:Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, implement, and execute
  • The ability to focus and execute exceptional time management
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop a project plan for major and complex projects.
  • Develops milestones for projects to determine when outcomes are achieved, that includes facilitating customer teams that lead to building consensus and contract implementation.
  • Assigns goals to direct reports as appropriate and monitors goal achievement.

Execution

  • Executes on clinical supply expense improvement agenda incorporating cost, quality and outcomes.
  • Drives clinical supply expense improvement through the development and deployment of standardized toolkits, processes, and assessments.

General Knowledge/Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare and/or Supply Chain/Materials Management.
  • Provides effective communication, which includes verbal, listening, writing, and presentation skills to a variety of stakeholders from executives to staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate within the organization's formal and informal structures, builds relationships across departments, is appropriately diplomatic, understands orders roles and perspectives, can sell projects and ideas across the organization.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and expertise within the Value Analysis in healthcare.
  • Applies strong data analysis skills to translate into an actionable plan, with strategic objective

What Qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, required. Graduate Degree, preferred
  • 10 years of hospital management experience in either a clinical, administrative, financial, or supply chain leadership role and experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, required
  • Multi-facility or system leadership experience, preferred
  • Previous experience in supply chain, value analysis, and surgical services expense management, preferred
  • Demonstrated, successful project management experience with coordination and measurement of project deliverables, preferred
  • Demonstrated, successful project management experience with coordination and measurement of project deliverables, preferred
  • Software skills with data warehouse and/or Micro Strategies, preferred
