Job Summary and Qualifications

The AVP Supply Chain Inventory and Logistics has global responsibility of developing, building and implementing strategic plans for Supply Chain Inventory Management and logistics/transportation programs to support all HCA facilities and departments, primarily focused on the United States but also including the United Kingdom as applicable. This represents operations in excess of $3B in distribution activity. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of supply chain strategies for inventory management, inventory demand forecasting technologies (DFIO, SMART GSO/FSO, warehouse inventory and management systems) and freight and transportation management systems for HCA. This role will lead the collaboration of Supply Chain and HCA clinical teams, Healthtrust Purchasing Group, Healthtrust Procure to Pay, Healthtrust Facility Operations, and other key HCA operations to support supply chain and HCA’s inventory and logistics management objectives including the development of business cases, project plans, and operational tools plus the implementation tracking and reporting of financial results for a wide-range of supply chain projects within HCA.

This position is additionally responsible for strategic development and maintenance of the current Inventory and logistics policies & procedures as well as working with Healthtrust and HCA personnel to develop and test new best practices for inventory control or modifications to the operating model and support ongoing development and reengineering of future-state supply chain strategies for all facets of the supply chain management relative to inventory management and logistics and will work closely with other stakeholders on item master governance.

This position is responsible for the development of and implementation of supply chain strategies for inbound and outbound transportation and freight management programs in HCA. This includes developing, implementing and operating a comprehensive freight management program to drive service levels and value.

This position contributes to the long-term strategies of Supply Chain, including a future state distribution network, and in the strategic development and execution of formal communications, education, and training for all related supply chain business practices or inventory and logistics programs.

The AVP may also serve as the Recall Officer for the warehouses, partnering with the Clinical Safety Team to support response

What you will do in this role includes:

• Strategic participation with operations management staff in formulating and administering Supply Chain Inventory and Logistics program policies and development of long-range goals and annual operational safety or savings goals and objectives. This includes interaction with Division and Corporate leaders to develop and execute on supply chain initiatives.
• Establish realistic operational goals and feasible supporting tactics in company business plans. Develops reportable key performance indicators for Supply Chain Operations.
• Manage the global Supply Chain Inventory to assure Mode Optimization and Logistics performance metrics to ensure goals are established and monitored throughout the company. This includes integration with HCA/Healthtrust goals and objectives.
• Successfully migrate facilities to the standardized Inventory Management and Logistics operating platform including systems, technologies, policies, and procedures for supply chain support.
• Strategic participation with operations management staff in formulating and administering Supply Chain Transportation Program policies and development of long-range goals and annual operational savings goals and objectives. This includes interaction with Division and Corporate leaders to develop and execute on supply chain initiatives.
• Establish realistic operational goals and feasible supporting tactics in company business plans. Develops reportable key performance indicators for Supply Chain Operations.
• Manage the global Supply Chain Transportation operational performance metrics to ensure goals are established and monitored throughout the company. This includes integration with Care team goals and objectives.

What qualifications you will need (Required for New Hires as of 6/01/2018):

• Bachelor’s Degree - Required
• MBA or Master’s degree - Preferred
• 10 years extensive experience with integrated supply chain operations - Required
• Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
