What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position at HealthVisionsMD?
HealthVisionsMD is seeking a full-time or part-time Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our Primary Care Practice. You must have a calm focus and the ability to multitask in challenging and busy circumstances. We are looking for someone who is mature, confident, and flexible with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. This position requires an individual who works quickly and goes beyond the call of duty. Other responsibilities of the Family Nurse Practitioner role include:
- Perform initial patient screenings and patient history and physical examinations
- Update patient records and check records for accuracy at each patient appointment
- Analyze test data and determine the need for follow-up appointments and further treatment options
- Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity
- Serve as the resource patients need for ongoing care information, counseling and provide guidance for any patients with critical conditions
- Prescribe medication and provide monitoring
- Provide professional consultation to staff
- Participate in staff conferences
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program
- 3 years’ nursing experience
- Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Virginia
- Ability to work within a team and take direction
- Must be familiar with the electronic medical records (EMR) charting system
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills & strong critical thinking skills
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
- Competency in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) charting system
Required License or Certification:
- Active NP or PA License
- Active DEA Licence
