Core Maintenance Responsibilities
- Execute more complex maintenance task on both production and building infrastructure independently.
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications as required to complete tasks.
- Document maintenance activities using the company’s CMMS.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions in food processing machinery, make proposals using cost and time management justifications and implement solutions.
- Oversee minor installations or modifications to equipment and building systems.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, company Safety, GMP’s and other relevant regulations.
- Participate in the maintenance of building’s structural elements like doors, windows, and roof.
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications as required to complete tasks.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to complete tasks assigned.
- Fabricate repair parts as required, using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
- Use forklifts or scissor lifts, following appropriate safety protocols
- Submit supply requests-specifying specific parts
- Selection and use of appropriate lubricants per application
- Remove defective parts by dismantling equipment; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Provide maintenance information, answering questions and requests.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of the facility, including floors, walls, and ceiling, by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Remove all tools and debris from any maintenance activity once it has been completed and inform the area supervisor and maintenance supervisor so appropriate hygiene and sanitation can be completed prior to the commencement of facility operations.
- Mentor Maintenance Tech 1 in technical skills, safety, and hygiene practices related to food equipment and surroundings.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; and interacting with contracted service technicians.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must work overtime as needed.
- This position may be required to be “on-call” in response to off-shift maintenance coverage needs
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience; additional certifications beneficial.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician 1 or similar role.
- Proficient in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Good understanding of food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must be able to read and speak English.
- Intermediate understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in food safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to perform tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to have good hand dexterity and use hand and eye coordination to complete task.
- Must be able to climb and work with ladders and at heights to perform task
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
