Description:
The Grants Development Specialist plays a vital role in advancing HealthWorks' mission by supporting strategic communications, donor engagement, and fundraising initiatives. This position requires creativity, excellent communication skills, a knowledge of fundraising, creativity and a passion for community health and equity. The Specialist will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to increase HealthWorks? visibility in the community, foster donor relationships, cultivate new ones, and support development activities in particular grant proposals that address the needs of underserved communities and are attractive to funders.
Responsibilities:
Grants:
- Research appropriate funding sources for programs, general operating, and capital improvement.
- Coordinate with CFO and Director of Communications and Development to create organizational yearly funding plan.
- Maintain excel spreadsheet on share drive documenting where to submit reports for grants and in addition to a grant calendar with project-specific deadlines, deliverables and name of project officer from Grantor.
- Plan proposals, write requests, and prepare to submit reports to the specifications of grant agencies, manage all required documentation and packaging while maintaining quality control over submissions.
- Optimizing the grant administration process.
- Tracking grant applications.
- Keep the Director of Communications and Development informed of grant applications and reporting activity, awards, and declines: submit monthly internal reports of activity.
- Submitting grant applications via paper or online portals and maintaining a list of passwords.
- Researching statistics, trends and data for grant proposals and community advocacy, including performing research and data-gathering?both from external sources and HW?s program data.
Development:
- Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, donor events, and other development activities.
- Maintain and update donor databases, ensuring accurate records and timely acknowledgment of contributions.
- Conduct prospect research to identify potential funding opportunities, sponsorships, and individual donors.
- Support donor stewardship initiatives by drafting thank-you letters, impact reports, and other personalized communications.
- Assist in planning and implementing annual giving appeals and special events.
Communications:
- Create compelling content for digital and print platforms, including newsletters, press releases, website updates, and social media.
- Manage and grow HealthWorks' social media presence across multiple platforms to engage audiences and build community support.
- Design marketing materials, including brochures, event collateral, and annual reports.
- Coordinate with media outlets and community partners to share HealthWorks? stories and initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of communications efforts, providing regular reports and recommendations.
- Represent HealthWorks at business networking and community events.
Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
