SUMMARY As a Lead Cook, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in our kitchen. You will supervise the daily flow with the kitchen staff, manage inventory, and ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met. You will have great leadership skills and lead by example, working alongside the team. You will have a passion for culinary arts and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will have a strong hand in supporting the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager in creating and maintaining a positive, satisfyingly productive, and successful café team ethos.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate duties and ensure daily tasks are completed with efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet company standards.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Monitor food safety and sanitation practices, escalating issues as necessary.
- Train new kitchen staff and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Collaborate with management to develop menu ideas and specials.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Will be available to manage opening and/or closing of the restaurant.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED
- 2 years of experience in kitchen supervisory positions
- Hold a current state food handlers' certification.
