- Perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction of the therapist.
- Assist clients with range of motion (ROM) exercises.
- Assist clients with ambulation or exercises.
- Perform personal care activities, including but not limited to:
- Bathing, hair care, skin care, nail care, and oral hygiene
- Shaving
- Dressing
- Perform household services essential to health care at home, including but not limited to:
- Meal preparation and feeding
- Laundry
- Light housekeeping
- Medication Reminders
- Report any observed or reported changes in the client's condition to the Healthy at Home Caregivers Office.
- Follow all reporting guidelines, including but not limited to
- Any guidelines outlined in the client's Care Plan
- State required reporting of suspected elder abuse
- Document provided care and completed the necessary forms for the client's records, including but not limited to:
- Care Provided
- VA Timesheets
- Client Observations and Vitals
- Submit client documentation per Healthy at Home Caregivers requirements.
- Promote personal safety and encourage a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following Healthy at Home Caregivers agency guidelines, and reporting any unsafe situations to the case manager in the Healthy at Home office.
- Demonstrate safe practice when using equipment. DO NOT use equipment until you have received orientation about its operation. Notify the case manager of educational needs.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team through verbal reports, participation in staff meetings and team conferences as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job as per HIPPA guidelines.
- Attend 5 hours of continuous learning classes pertaining to caregiving needs per year as required by the state of California.
Requirements
- Registered Home Care Aide (HCA) - if not registered, we'll help you apply and pay for it! exclusions apply.
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Get on-the-job Training. No experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care for clients.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
